  • You do not have to enter a team if not wanting to compete in the games. The event is FREE to attend, but you must RSVP which gives you access to free giveaways, swag bags and an entry into a big prize raffle! Come out and enjoy our vendors and activations while supporting your community’s competing teams. 

  • Appoint an adult to be a team captain. Find 4-6 kids around the same age to be on the team. The team captain will register the team and then send each teammate’s parents the link for them to complete registration.

    • There are 4 sections with a variety of games within each.

    • Agility Station: obstacle course galore!

    • Sports Station: aim, kick, throw, shoot and play a variety of sport themed games to rack up points!

    • Relay Station: old school field day games such as three legged races, sack races & more!

    • Leadership Station: exciting games relying on teamwork such as blindfolded mazes, human knots & other communication building team games!

  • Swag + Giveaways, Raffle Prizes, DJ & MC, Foam Party, Face Painting, Splash Pad, Bounce House, Music Corner, Karate Performance, Nutrition Station, Cold Plunge, Food

  • Team Captains inspire fun, energy and competition as they guide their team through the various games. They will initiate the team's registration and be in charge of holding on to their team's scorecard on the day of the event. Let the community pride, competitive spirit and inspiring team building begin with YOU! (Did we mention, the team captain of winning teams get a prize, too?!)

  • Practice day is held on May 10th, a week before Battle of the Hoods. It gives kids a chance to meet with their teams, run through a few of the games, and get familiar with the field layout. There’s no pressure– it is all about fun, learning the rules and building team spirit. 

  • Each team captain will have a scoring sheet that is given to the referee at every station. Some will be timed and some will be point based. Your team will compete in as many stations as possible to earn the most amount of points they can as a team. Teams can go freely to whichever station they want in any order. At 11:30, scoring cards will be turned in and calculated to determine winners!

    • 8:00am - Check in for competing teams 

    • 8:45am - Opening Ceremony and Team Warm Up

    • 9:00am - LET THE GAMES BEGIN!

    • 11:30am - Competition Wrap Up + Performances

    • 12:00pm - Closing Ceremony & Foam Party, Team Winners Announced, Raffle Drawing & Prizes Awarded

  • Absolutely! Winning teams in each age bracket will receive a grand prize. We also have raffles prizes and giveaway swag+discounts for everyone in attendance (must RSVP to enter)! Oh, and don’t forget our ‘Most Spirited ‘Hood’ Award! BRING ON THE COMMUNITY PRIDE!  Our goal is to celebrate participation and inclusion, ensuring that everyone feels valued and leaves with a greater sense of community and togetherness.
